The Del Norte County Sheriff's Search and Rescue (SAR) Team is hosting Summer EX in Del Norte County California. Summer EX is an annual large scale, three day exercise hosted by a member county of the California Oregon Regional Search and Rescue (CORSAR) group. Some of the scheduled training will include ATV certification, Helicopter operations, Man Tracking, Dive and Personal Water Craft (PWC) operations, GPS, Mounted, and Dog operations. CORSAR provides all the training blocks at no cost to the student/trainee. All meals will be provided free of charge to CORSAR members. This event is scheduled for June 24th, 25th and 26th 2011 at the Del Norte County Fairgrounds adjacent to Hwy 101 in Crescent City, CA. The CORSAR group consists of local, state, private and federal organizations which are dedicated to helping preserve lives by working together anywhere in the Southern Oregon and Northern California Regions (Del Norte, Coos, Curry, Douglas, Josephine, Siskiyou, Klamath, and Jackson Counties) in Search and Rescue missions. Our mission is to foster regional communication, to provide and coordinate personnel, equipment, education and training for the effective delivery of Search and Rescue services. The CORSAR group will provide training to Search and Rescue personnel, Search and Rescue management and other related resources to Federal,State, and Local authorities to further safeguard and save lives.
